Flood warnings issued for area rivers

Bartholomew County Emergency Management has announced flood warnings in the area.

  • A flood warning for the Flatrock River near Columbus will continue until Monday night.
    At 10:30 a.m. Monday, the water was at 10.9 feet with flood stage at 11 feet. Minor flooding is forecast. The river is expected to crest at 11.1 feet Monday afternoon and then fall below flood stage.
  • A flood warning is in effect for the Driftwood River near Edinburgh until Tuesday afternoon. At 10:30 a.m. Monday, the river was at 11.6 feet, with flood stage set at 11 feet.
    The river is expected to rise to a crest of 11.8 feet Monday afternoon and then fall below flood stage.
  • A flood warning is in effect until late Thursday night for the East Fork White River at Seymour. At 9:45 a.m. Monday, the river was at 16.8 feet, with flood stage set at 12 feet. The river is expected to crest at 17.2 feet before falling below flood stage Thursday.
