Samuel named Mid-South Freshman of the Year
Columbus North graduate Erica Samuel has been named the Mid-South Conference Freshman of the Year after helping lead Indiana Wesleyan to a runner-up team finish in the conference meet.
Samuel won the 1,650-yard freestyle in 17 minutes, 34.69 seconds and the 400 individual medley in 4:36.24 to earn first-team All-MSC honors. She also made the second team as part of the Wildcats’ 800 freestyle relay team and the third team as part of the 400 freestyle relay team.
Whitley Eicher, a junior from Columbus East, made the second team as part of IWU’s 200 medley relay team.

King leads Army to quarterfinal win
WEST POINT, N.Y. — Alex King scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds Monday to lead Army to an 89-66 win against American in the quarterfinals of the Patriot League Tournament.
King, a senior from Columbus North, and the fourth-seeded Black Knights, will host Loyloa (Maryland) in the semifinals at 5:30 p.m. today. The game will be televised on CBSSN.
