NORTH VERNON
Lonnie Eugene Waggoner Sr., 61, of North Vernon, passed away at 9:55 a.m. on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at his residence.
Born August 31, 1959, in Seymour, he was the son of Lawrence and Faye Hunter Waggoner. He married Margaret Payne on June 2, 1979, in Columbus; she survives.
Lonnie was a 1977 graduate of Columbus North High School and worked for Dexter Tire in Columbus and had previously worked for PECO (Product Engineering Company) in Columbus. He attended the church formerly known as The Well in North Vernon. Lonnie enjoyed fishing, hiking, camping, and Elvis music.
Surviving with his wife, Margaret, are sons, Lonnie Waggoner Jr. and Michael Waggoner, both of North Vernon; brother, Keith Waggoner of Columbus; and sisters, Betty Smith and Annette Kimberlin, both of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Matthew Christopher Waggoner; seven brothers; and six sisters.
Private family visitation was held. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon were entrusted with the care of these arrangements.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Lonnie to help with expenses.
