Volunteers gathered at Eastside Community Center to fold thousands of origami cranes as a gesture of empathy and good will for Japanese natives living in Columbus following the earthquake and tsunami that devastated portions of Japan.

Hundreds of cars were checked in a daylong roadblock established by deputy sheriffs on U.S. 31 after human body parts were found about 20 feet down an embankment.
