INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health announced Thursday that 966 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 675,388 the number of Indiana residents now known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.
A total of 12,495 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 13 from the previous day. Another 412 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record.
To date, 3,199,074 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 3,193,023 on Wednesday. A total of 8,556,561 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26, 2020.
Bartholomew County reported 7,586 positive tests (up one) with 150 deaths (no change) as of Thursday.
Surrounding counties reported:
Jackson County: 4,692 positive cases (up eight) with 67 deaths (no change).
Jennings County: 2,201 positive cases (up two) with 45 deaths (no change).
Decatur County: 2,733 positive cases (up one) with 92 deaths (no change).
Shelby County: 4,680 positive cases (up two) with 93 deaths (no change).
Johnson County: 16,698 positive cases (up 34) with 366 deaths (no change)
Brown County: 962 positive cases (up one) with 40 deaths (no change).

Hoosiers age 45 and older, along with healthcare workers, long-term care residents, first responders who are regularly called to the scene of an emergency to render medical assistance, and educators and school support staff through grade 12 are now eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. To schedule, visit https://ourshot.in.gov or call 211 if you do not have access to a computer or require assistance.
As of Thursday, 1,356,761 first doses of vaccine have been administered in Indiana, and 890,159 individuals are fully vaccinated. The fully vaccinated number includes individuals who have received a second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines and those who received the single Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

The testing site in Columbus is located in FairOaks Mall at the former JC Penney location.
The Bartholomew Health Department and Windrose Health Network is also offering free COVID-19 testing.

Testing will be available to all members of the public regardless of symptoms. Children as young as 2 years of age can be tested with parental consent.
