Driver arrested on drug-related charges in North Vernon

NORTH VERNON, Ind. —  A North Vernon police officer arrested a North Vernon driver on multiple drug-related charges after a traffic stop Monday near the area of Franklin and North State streets.

Officer Wes Thayer observed a driver fail to signal a turn in the area of the intersection and when the vehicle was stopped, detected the odor of marijuana coming from the interior, officers said.

When searching the vehicle, a large quantity of illegal drugs were found, including marijuana, various forms of THC edibles, THC vape cartridges, about 21 grams of methamphetamine and various drug paraphernalia, officers said.

Kelli Cravens, 43, North Vernon, was arrested on preliminary charges of felony dealing in methamphetamine, felony possession of methamphetamine, and felony dealing in marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, officers said.
