COLUMBUS
Lois Ann Smith, 84, of Columbus, passed away at 12:28 p.m. Sunday, March 21, 2021 at home, surrounded by her family.
Lois was born December 24, 1936, in Nashville, Indiana, the daughter of George Raymond and Wanettia M. Cummings Roberts. On July 4, 1958, she married Alva L. Smith.
Lois loved her family and loved hummingbirds. She spent her time raising her children and taking care of her family.
Survivors include her sons, Jeff (Michele) Smith of Columbus, Brian (Cathy) Smith of Indianapolis, Douglas (Kathy) Smith, also of Columbus, Michael (Donna) Smith, Mark (Linda) Smith, both of Brown County; sixteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Kathy (Joe) Brockman, Betty Cravens, both of Columbus; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alva; daughter, Danita Kay Smith and brother, Jack Roberts.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike with Pastor Daryl Gressel officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Due to pandemic restrictions, we are limited to 100 people in our funeral home. We do ask that visitors follow the social distancing guidelines once inside the funeral home and masks are required.
Burial will be at Brown County Memorial Park.
