COLUMBUS, Ind. — A local woman was taken into custody early Tuesday morning after she spit on a CPD officer who arrested her for having multiple Bartholomew County warrants.
Shortly after 1 a.m., CPD officers responded to a residence in the 1200 block of Eighth Street where they located Heather D. Combs, 36, of Columbus, who had four local warrants for her arrest, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
Combs was detained and then accused of spitting on a CPD officer who was escorting her to his patrol vehicle, Harris said. Combs was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on the warrants and a preliminary charge of battery by bodily waste on a public safety officer.
