INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health announced today that 1,256 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 688,916 the number of Indiana residents now known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.
To date, 12,662 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 20 from the previous day. Another 407 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record.
A total of 3,267,629 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 3,262,518 on Thursday. A total of 8,975,412 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26, 2020.
Bartholomew County reported 7,723 positive tests (up five) with 152 deaths (up one) as of Friday.
Surrounding counties reported:
- Jackson County: 4,836 positive cases (up 11) with 69 deaths (up two).
- Jennings County: 2,229 positive cases (up one) with 46 deaths (no change).
- Decatur County: 2,767positive cases (up four) with 92 deaths (no change).
- Shelby County: 4,710 positive cases (up three) with 95 deaths (no change).
- Johnson County: 17,118 positive cases (up 39) with 369 deaths (no change).
- Brown County: 972 positive cases (no change) with 40 deaths (no change).

Additional locations and appointments are being added as more vaccine becomes available.
As of today, a total of 2,927,796 doses have been administered in Indiana. This includes 1,730,567 first doses and 1,197,229 individuals who are fully vaccinated. The fully vaccinated number represents individuals who have received a second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines and those who received the single Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
