Jets roll over Cubs
MADISON — The bus carrying the Hauser softball team broke down on the way to Madison Wednesday, but the Jets still made it in time and posted a 10-4 victory.
Reagan Johnson went 4 for 5 with a double and three RBIs to lead the Class A No. 7 Jets (4-1), who pounded out 13 hits. Hannah Taylor went 2 for 3, Kyra Meister went 2 for 4.
Paige McDaniel and Dani Steward combined on a six-hitter.
Devils top Panthers
NORTH VERNON — Jeffersonville scored five times in the first inning Wednesday and went on to hand Jennings County an 8-3 Hoosier Hills Conference defeat.
Tori Lee went 2 for 3 with a triple for the Panthers (1-4, 0-1). Taylor Mowery went 2 for 3.
TRACK AND FIELD
East girls win, boys tie
Columbus East’s girls beat Seymour 68-64, and the boys tied the Owls 66-66 in a dual meet on Tuesday.
Winners for the Olympian girls were Katie Hagan in the pole vault, Gabi Schuetz in the 100 meters, Hallie Randle in the 200 and Chloe Krueger in the 3,200. East also captured the 4×100 and 4×400 relays.

Royals sweep Jets
HOPE — Eastern Hancock swept a dual meet at Hauser Wednesday, winning the boys meet 100-14 and the girls meet 90-24.
Adonah Riddle won the shot put (24 feet, 6 inches), and Marnie Schwartzkopf took the 800 (2 minutes, 49.5 seconds) to lead the Jet girls. For the boys, Aleck Lopez finished second in the long jump (18-3) and 100 (12.1).
Cougar boys second
RUSHVILLE — South Decatur’s boys finished second and the Cougar girls were third in a tri meet Tuesday at Rushville.
Rushville won the boys meet with 99 points, and South Decatur edged North Decatur 35-33 for second. Rushville took the girls meet with 72 points for 54 for North Decatur and 40 for the Cougars.
Lana Bell won the high jump (5-0) and discus (91-9) for the South Decatur girls. Campbell Johannigman captured the boys 300 hurdles (50.1).
GIRLS TENNIS
Rebels stop Panthers
HANOVER — Jennings County fell to Southwestern (Hanover) 3-1 Wednesday, with the No. 3 singles match stopped because of rain.
Reagan Brown beat Elle Ford 7-5, 6-1 at No. 1 singles for the Panthers (1-1). Carmen Kopitzke was leading Audrey Bare 6-4, 7-5, 4-3 when rain ended play.
Jennings’ Tatum Brown fell to Julia Worcester 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Liz Ertel and Sydney Carson lost to Autumn Harmon and 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, and Hannah Green and Cassidy Mull fell to Alliana Voorhies and Syernia Hardy 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.
