The recent Columbus North High School Key Club’s inaugural Columbus United Virtual Benefit Concert was a significant success, raising $2,500 and exceeding the event’s goal, according to organizers.
Members of the club, who normally raises money each spring for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society just among a few classes at school, decided to change things this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Leaders said they wanted to give people beyond just the school something to look forward to.
So they organized and recorded the three-hour-plus concert with 30 varied acts, from dance to orchestral to individual instrumental presentations. Last year, the club raised $1,275.
“We are so happy we were able to surpass our goal,” said Sanjana Jain, club secretary.
