INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health announced today that 1,250 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 711,787 the number of Indiana residents now known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.
To date, 12,844 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of four from the previous day. Another 408 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record.
A total of 3,347,994 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 3,343,166 on Wednesday. A total of 9,553,973 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26, 2020.
Bartholomew County reported 7,925 positive tests (up 13) with 155 deaths (no change) as of Thursday.
Surrounding counties reported:
- Jackson County: 4,946 positive cases (up five) with 72 deaths (no change).
- Jennings County: 2,255 positive cases (up one) with 48 deaths (no change).
- Decatur County: 2,797 positive cases (up two) with 92 deaths (no change).
- Shelby County: 4,819 positive cases (up seven) with 95 deaths (no change).
- Johnson County: 17,600 positive cases (up 31) with 374 deaths (no change).
- Brown County: 1,007 positive cases (no change) with 40 deaths (no change).

As of today, a total of 3,887,012 doses have been administered in Indiana. This includes 2,233,214 first doses and 1,653,798 individuals who are fully vaccinated. The fully vaccinated number represents individuals who have received a second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines and those who received the single Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
