Olympians blank Japser
JASPER — Kaden Wise threw a one-hit shutout and struck out eight Friday to lead Columbus East to a 3-0 win at Jasper.
The Olympians (6-4-1) also had just one hit, but that was a two-run single by Ben Major in the fourth. East had scored its first run in the first inning.
Jets rout Mohawks
WALDRON — Koby Johnson threw a 1-hit shutout and struck out nine to lead Hauser to an 11-0 Mid-Hoosier Conference win at Waldron.
Aaron Rork went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs, and Frankie Poole went 2 for 3 for the Jets (7-4, 5-0). Landon Asher added a double and two RBIs.
Crusaders drop opener
MADISON — Columbus Christian finally had a chance to open its season, but fell 9-6 at Shawe Memorial.
The Crusdaders led 3-0 after two innings and outhit the Hilltoppers 11-9. Josh Conrad went 3 for 3 with double, Jacob Conrad went 3 for 4, Cam Watts-Pritchard went 2 for 3 and Drew Robison went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs.
Panthers top Owls
NORTH VERNON — Jacob Vogel threw a four-hitter and struck out 11 to lead Jennings County to a 5-2 win against Seymour.
The Panthers (3-3), who were no-hit by Class 4A No. 1 Columbus North on Thursday, bounced back with five hits against the Owls.

Jets run-rule Mohawks
WALDRON — Reagan Johnson went 4 for 4 with a double and four RBIs to lead Class A co-No. 4 Hauser to a 15-5, five-inning MHC win at Waldron.
Zoee Nading went 3 for 4 with a double, Kyra Meister went 3 for 4 and Hannah Taylor went 2 for 3 with a triple and two RBIs for the Jets (10-2, 5-1). Dani Steward shut out the Mohawks over the first three innings to pick up the win.
Shelbyville sweeps East
SHELBYVILLE — Columbus East pounded out 11 hits, but it wasn’t enough in an 11-5 loss in the first game of a doubleheader at Shelbyville. The Golden Bears won the second game 22-1.
Kenzie Foster went 3 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs for the Olympians (2-11) in the opener. Julia Sitterding, Kerigan Greathouse and Saige Stahl all went 2 for 4.
Cougars fall to Milan
GREENSBURG — South Decatur led 7-4 after six innings, but Milan scored nine times in the seventh to claim a 13-7 victory.
Zorry Sharp went 2 for 4 with two doubles, Molly Eden went 2 for 4 with a double and Erynn Dyer went 2 for 4 for the Cougars (3-5).
BOYS GOLF
Jets second in tri
AUSTIN — Hauser finished second in a tri match at Westwood. Host Austin won with a 161 to 190 for the Jets and 227 for West Washington.
Chase Martoccia and Justice Gilliland each shot 44 to lead Hauser. Caleb Wallace added a 50, and Daniel Taylor and Brock Thalls each shot 52.
GIRLS TENNIS
Panthers down Eagles
AUSTIN — Jennings County won all five matches in straight sets in a 5-0 victory at Austin.
Reagan Brown beat Sarah Robbins 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, Tatum Brown downed Mayci Furnish 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2 singles and Carmen Kopitzke topped Caitlyn Royalty 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 singles for the Panthers (8-1).
Jennings’ Liz Ertel and Sydney Carson defeated Jessica Spencer and Brooklyn Begley 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles. Cassidy Mull and Faith Heaton beat Vivian Collins and Kendall Smith 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.
Mohawks edge Lancers
EDINBURGH — Waldron pulled out a three-set win at No. 1 singles to claim a 3-2 MHC victory at Edinburgh.
Bethany Burton beat Nichole Garner 6-4, 7-5 at No. 2 singles, and Jessica Walsh won by forfeit at No. 3 singles for the Lancers.
Edinburgh’s Annelise Lollar fell to Caroline Sheaffer 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. Alyssa Funkhouser and Peyton Bryant lost to Mackenzie Shaw and Megan Bogemann 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles, and Zoey Sida and Gracie Myers fell to Josee Lamison and Kieka Ziegler 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.

Panthers take fifth
FRANKLIN — Jennings County’s boys and girls both finished fifth Thursday in Franklin’s Bill Self Invitational. The host Grizzly Cubs swept the team titles.
The Panthers’ Kenna Maschino won the girls shot put (35 feet, 3 inches) and discus (105-7). Zane Ortlieb won the boys discus (135-9) and finished second in the shot (45-6 1/4), and Brenden Baker took second in the 3,200 meters (10 minutes, 18.63 seconds).
