
COLUMBUS, Ind. — Most city buildings will re-open to the public beginning Monday, city officials announced today.
The city will also continue to mandate mask wearing within city facilities to protect the public and employees.
Members of the public who choose to continue to do business without physically coming into facilities are asked to contact city employees via phone or email.
Virtual meetings will continue through May, live-streamed and available through WebEx.
If Governor Holcomb’s Emergency Order for meetings is not extended through May allowing this, the city plans to go back to in-person meetings and will let
the public know of the changes.
The following details how each building will be affected:
1. City Hall and Police Office Building – open beginning May 3;
a. Note: New doors are being installed at the south entrance to City Hall.
Please follow signs to enter the building;
2. Animal Care Building closed – appointment only;
3. Donner Center Building – open beginning May 3;
4. Utilities Building – open beginning May 3; Drive-through open;
5. Fire Stations – continued to be closed to the public;
6. Hamilton Center – continued open for use;
7. Gymnastics Center at FFY – continued open for use;
8. DPW Building – open beginning May 3;
9. Transit – buses will continue to run as normal; mask mandate based on federal
guidelines;
10. Parks Open; please go to the Parks and Recreation page on the City’s website for

11. The Commons – continue to be closed except via appointment;
12. Aviation offices open beginning May 3.
