Mann, Gray assigned to Double-A squads

Two professional baseball players from Columbus have been assigned to Double-A affiliates to begin this season.

Devin Mann, a 2015 Columbus North graduate, has been assigned to the Tulsa Drillers, the Double-A farm team of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The infielder was ticketed for Double-A last season before the minor leagues were canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and he spent most of the abbreviated major league season training with the Dodgers as part of their 60-man roster.

Peyton Gray, a 2014 Columbus East graduate, has been assigned to Springdale (Arkansas), the Double-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. The right-handed pitcher spent most of last season with the Independent-League Milwaukee Milkmen, where he was named American Association Rookie of the Year and Relief Pitcher of the Year.
