NORTH VERNON — North Vernon police arrested a man on a felony auto theft charge after a car was reported missing from the Moir Apartments.
The victim reported her 2010 silver Hyundai was missing at 9:35 p.m. Tuesday.
Officer Adam Driver received the report and began investigating. At about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, officers located the vehicle parked at a residence in Hickory Manor trailer court, said Sgt. Andrew Richmond, North Vernon Police Department spokesman.
Driver was able to identify suspect Kenneth D. Sanders, 22, from Nineveh, who was believed to have recently moved to North Vernon. Sanders was arrested on a preliminary charge of theft of a vehicle, a Level 6 felony, Richmond said. The vehicle was returned to the owner.
