The free AMPLIFY Film Fest, presented partly in person and partly online, will unfold May 14 through May 16 at YES Cinema in downtown Columbus, and on May 18 and May 20 virtually via Zoom.
The goal of the event, supported by the African American Fund of Bartholomew County and The Heritage Fund — the Foundation of Bartholomew County, is to celebrate the diverse and often marginalized voices in this area, according to organizers.
“Through film, we are coming together to celebrate our differences and uplift every human,” said Mary Harmon, the overall coordinator.
She pointed out that the fest includes Oscar-nominated films, family favorites, and educational films “that bring us together,” according to Harmon. For in-person seats, people must register online since socially-distanced seating is limited.
