Verbanic nets Lacrosse Conference honors
Hanover’s Charlotte Verbanic has been named to the Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference first team and All-Tournament team.
Verbanic, a senior captain from Columbus North, started all nine games for the Panthers, who finished the season 4-5. She recorded 21 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers as a defender, while adding two goals and an assist.
Norman’s grand slams help Marian to wins
Sierra Norman has a walkoff RBI-single and two grand slam homers in the past two weeks for a Marian softball team that likely is headed to the NAIA Tournament.
Norman, a freshman first baseman from Columbus North, is batting .315 and is second on the team with six homers and 44 RBIs. She has helped the Knights to a 45-13 record, including 30-6 in the Crossroads League.
