Customer arrested after accused of switching price tags on items

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus police officers arrested a Flatrock man who was accused of switching price tags on merchandise inside a store on Monday.

At approximately 5:55 p.m., CPD officers responded to Walmart, 735 Whitfield Drive, in regards to a man, later identified as Jordan L. Caldwell, 31, who was reportedly switching price tags on merchandise inside the store, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

The officers met with store security and Caldwell inside the store and determined that Caldwell had three active Bartholomew County warrants and he was placed under arrest.

While searching Caldwell, the officers located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside his clothing, Harris said.

Caldwell was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where he was remanded on the following preliminary charges:

— Three Bartholomew County Warrants

— Possession of Methamphetamine

— Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
