Council gives initial approval to economic revitalization area

COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Bartholomew County Council has given initial approval to a new economic revitalization area in an area described as a “northern gateway.”

The area is from County Road 900N at the north side of the designated area to Larae Drive at the south, including property on both sides of U.S. 31 near the I-65 interchange.

While the council gave initial approval, a public hearing is required before final approval. That hearing is set for June 29.
