Letter: Education must take priority over misinformation

Just a note to thank The Republic for publishing Denny Kubal’s letter last week regarding the 2020 election and unsubstantiated voter fraud. His list of the imagined theories for a "stolen election" should be an educational opportunity to honor integrity in politics.

Our democracy is strong, but only as strong as the citizens who are educated and involved with the process. It is a process of give and take, agreements and disagreements, individual development and collaboration, etc.

It is imperative that we return to educating our population on civics, healthy disagreement resolutions and integrity in politics.

Government and civics classes are sadly lacking in our schools. Let’s make an effort to encourage thoughtful and truthful political education by encouraging school boards, educators and Congress about the importance of an educated voter.
