Luke VanDeventer // Columbus North senior golfer
VanDeventer fired a 3-under-par 67 Friday to win medalist honors and lead the Bull Dogs to the Greensburg Sectional title. He also carded a 74 to help North to a fourth-place finish in the Zionsville Invitational.
His performance last week: “I feel really good about my performance. I’m sure there’s some things I could have done a little bit better, but overall, I was very happy about how I played.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “I just make sure I get myself warmed up and make sure I putt a bunch because it’s really key and important for me to make sure I learn the greens and see how they’re rolling.”
Favorite drink: “I like a vanilla protein shake in the morning.”
Favorite food: “Steak”
Favorite class: “History”
Favorite sports team: “Indiana University”
Favorite athlete: “Justin Thomas”
Role model: “My dad (Keith VanDeventer) or brother (Paul VanDeventer).”
Best advice: “Just enjoy what you’re doing, and have no regrets.”
Athletics goal: “To make the PGA Tour one day.”
If you could travel anywhere: “Probably Scotland or Ireland. I’d like to play those golf courses over there where golf really began.”

Josie Lemmons // Columbus North sophomore softball player
Lemmons went 2 for 3 with three stolen bases to record both Bull Dog hits in Saturday’s 4-0 semistate loss to Roncalli. She also had a hit and two stolen bases in North’s 6-0 regional win against Center Grove.
Her performance last week: “I think as a team, we all did fantastic. I’m very happy with the progress that we’ve all made.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “I always swing at home and stretch before every game. I do a lot of tee work before every game.”
Favorite drink: “Iced coffee.”
