Three arrested after armed robbery in Columbus

Columbus police made three arrests in connection with a Monday morning armed robbery.

Shortly before 7:30 a.m., CPD patrol officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of California Street in regards to an armed robbery which had just occurred, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

Officers determined that the victim was held at gunpoint and then struck in the face several times with the weapon before having his bicycle stolen, Harris said.

Officers later located the stolen bicycle behind a downtown residence. As a result of the investigation, three people were arrested and the weapon used in the robbery, which turned out to be a pellet gun, was recovered, Harris said.

The persons listed were placed under arrest in connection with the robbery and are on a 48-hour hold at the Barth-olomew County Jail as the investigation into the incident continues.

They include:

Kevin W. Shuffitt, 20, of 171 Cleveland St., robbery with a deadly weapon, bond set at $100,000.

Anthony D. Tilford, 27, of 1023 Ninth St., battery, bond set at $3,500.

Kaylee D. Shuffitt, 27, of 730 Wilson St., robbery with a deadly weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a legend drug injection device, bond set at $165,000.
