TAYLORSVILLE
Ada Carol Gassaway, 76 of Taylorsville, died Sunday August 1, 2021 at Franklin Meadows Nursing Home in Franklin, Indiana.
Mrs. Gassaway was born July 10, 1945 in Pineville, Kentucky, the daughter of William Thomas Murray and Mabel Marie (Hudson) Murray. She married James Earl Gassaway on July 3, 1968.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Dow of Columbus; sons, James and Mark Gassaway, both of Taylorsville, Johnny (Robin) Gassaway of Edinburgh and Jeff (Sandy) Gassaway of Columbus; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and her sisters Louise Ison, Bobbie Thompson, Beth Davis, Faye Tigge, Joan Goins and Jeannette Dixon.
Ada was a wife and mother who also worked in the manufacturing industry, serving 29 years for Dorel Juvenile Group prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Taylorsville Baptist Church and the Women of the Moose. She enjoyed working in her garden, growing flowers, working puzzles and fishing.
Arrangements for Ada are being handled by Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Visitation for Ada will be from noon to 2 p.m., Thursday, August 5, 2021 at the funeral home with the service following at 2 p.m. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
