The Columbus Police Department Criminal Investigations Division and the Bartholomew County Coroner’s office are investigating the discovery of a dead body near the People Trail on Marr Road near Rocky Ford Road on Wednesday.
The male, estimated to be in his mid-20s, was found by a family that had been hiking along the People Trail in the area and were wading and swimming in Haw Creek, which runs along the People Trail just south of Rocky Ford Road, investigators said. The body was found near the creek, according to investigators.
The coroner’s office estimates the body had been there less than 24 hours when it was found.
An investigation is continuing, and more information may be available today, investigators said.
