Columbus East has found a new opponent for its scrimmage on Friday night after Martinsville had to cancel because of a COVID issue.
The Olympians now will scrimmage at Decatur Central at 7 p.m. Friday. Tickets can be purchased at https://secure.payk12.com/school/Decatur-Central-HS/581/item/203511
Columbus North will visit Greenwood for its scrimmage, also at 7 p.m. Friday. No tickets will be sold at the gate. Tickets can be purchased at https://public.eventlink.com/tickets?t=1653&p=6979
In other Friday scrimmages, Jennings County will host Brownstown Central, Brown County hosts Monrovia, Edinburgh will host the Indianapolis Crimson Knights homeschool team and South Decatur will visit Union County. All are scheduled for 7 p.m.
The regular season begins Aug. 20 with East visiting Whiteland and North traveling to Gibson Southern.
East tennis scrimmage rescheduled for today
Columbus East’s boys tennis scrimmage at Shelbyville that originally scheduled for Wednesday has been moved to today.
The scrimmage will begin at 5 p.m.
North adds volleyball game to begin season
Columbus North has added a home volleyball game to begin its regular season.
The Bull Dogs will host Seymour on Tuesday. The junior varsity is scheduled to start at 6 p.m., with the varsity to follow at around 7:15 p.m.
BCSC to livestream home football games
Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. will livestream Columbus East and Columbus North home football games for the second year in a row, beginning with the North at East game on Aug. 27.
BCSC also plans to livestream the East vs. North girls soccer game on Aug. 25, the East vs. North boys soccer game on Aug. 26 and North at East volleyball game on Sept. 30.
North girls soccer holding car wash
The Columbus North girls soccer team will hold its annual car wash fundraiser from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Advance Auto Parts, 2460 25th st.
Donations will be accepted, with 100 percent going to the girls soccer team.
