I am 66½ years old and have been there and done that for many things in those few short years.
That leads me to the issue of folks with a reluctance of getting vaccinated to help protect you from COVID-19 and the delta variant. My question is “what is your real reason?” I’m not judging you for your opinions, but seriously take a look at what is happening around the world. It’s not politics, Dr. Fauci, race, religion, sexual preference, your rights nor your age. It’s science!
Look at the numbers folks, internationally! The finger should not be pointed to the origin, but to the folks who can’t or won’t do the right thing. You are affecting quite a bit, more so yourselves and your loved ones — let alone me and my loved ones!
I retired from the death care industry a few years ago and have a little bit of knowledge of the sciences. I have lived through the eras of many viruses and diseases. AIDS, SARS, MERS, anthrax, ebola, meningitis, hepatitis A-B-C-D-E, HIV and multiple strains of other flu viruses. A Google search will tell you most of the above have vaccines to protect us from acquiring those diseases and have worked over a 100 years.
When we went to war or school we had to have the battery of vaccinations to do so. Chicken pox, smallpox, polio, pertussis, measles, mumps, rubella, yellow fever, malaria, diphtheria, cholera and tetanus. Again, all have vaccines and they did and do work.
Not long ago, the new colloquial term was “COVD fatigue.” I think it’s more COVID complacency! As I Google COVID hot spots nationwide and worldwide, you will notice the spikes in areas; states, all sizes of communities and countries. That’s what lends me to believe it is in fact COVID complacency. Again, not pointing fingers, but this issue is more than a barrage of social media, political and in general hype disseminating misinformation.
All that being said, I wish everyone to not have to suffer through this virus and its effects. From just feeling blaaah to death. Life is too short and people we truly love cannot be replaced. Stay safe and well!
Kyrie eleison!
