East upsets No. 10 Franklin

Columbus East won a tri match Monday at Otter Creek, finishing with a 172 to 179 for 10th-ranked Franklin and 196 for Martinsville.

Carter Gant led the Olympians with a 40. Harley Gant carded a 41, Lilly Steinwedel added a 44, Katie Hong had a 47 and Peyton Meier and Cristen Martinez each shot 49.

Bull Dogs down Cougars

BLOOMINGTON — Ella Wilks won medalist honors with a 40 to lead Columbus North to a 173-208 win against Bloomington North at Cascades.

Gwen Anderson carded a 42 for the Bull Dogs. Macy Euler added a 45, Ritisha Rashmil shot 46, Erin Hopkins had a 49 and Reese Euler finished with a 54.

New Albany tops Panthers

NORTH VERNON — Jennings County fell to New Albany 170-206 at St. Anne’s.

Alexis Carson led the Panthers with a 40. Sophie Curry added a 47, Emma Jones shot 59 and Emma Kirchner had a 60.

North blanks Grizzly Cubs

FRANKLIN — Class 3A No. 7 Columbus North blanked Franklin 5-0 behind a hat trick from Jenna Lang.

Lauren Barker and Emily Ellis also scored goals for the Bull Dogs (2-0-1). K.J. Ely, Barker and Ameila Corney had assists.

North outshot the Grizzly Cubs 28-3. Mallory Gilley recorded two saves.

Jets sweep Indians

HOPE — Hauser won all five matches in straight sets in a 5-0 win against Milan.

Sam Miller beat Shane Phelps 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, Caleb Wallace downed Caleb Prozanski 7-5, 7-6 (4) at No. 2 singles and Carson Rose topped Aiden McFarland 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles for the Jets (2-2).

Hauser’s Eli Miller and Levi Gollmer beat Adam Volz and Jake McGuire 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles. Hagan Wiedersatz and Alex Bower defeated Brandon Bentley and Cayden Green 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles.

Stars edge Olympians

BEDFORD — Columbus East won a pair of singles matches, but Bedford North Lawrence took the other three matches to claim a 3-2 victory.

Matthew Degner beat Graham Turner 6-4, 7-5 at No. 1 singles, and Brady Redelman topped Carter Kimmel 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2 singles for the Olympians (0-3).

East’s Derek Heideman fell to Steven Jones 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Tyler Ernst and Lincoln West lost to Jayden Kemp and Cameron Gratzer 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, and Jacob Dettmer and Henry Ulrich fell to Caleb Jones and Nate Pemberton 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.

Panthers nip Pirates

GREENSBURG — Jennings County won three matches in straight sets in pulling out a 3-2 win at Greensburg.

Owen Law beat Bryce Stringer 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 singles for the Panthers (5-1). Jacob Vogel and Justin Ramey downed Jeter Edwards and Jack McKinsey 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, and Greyson Jackson and Jansen McDonald (JC) defeated Reece Beaver and Dan Fisse 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.

Jennings’ Alex Leach fell to Abe Tebbe 6-1, 7-5 at No. 2 singles, and Connor Euler lost to Karson Scheidler 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.

Lancers clip Jackets

EDINBURGH — Edinburgh swept the singles matches in a 3-2 Mid-Hoosier Conference win against Morristown.

Max Blandford beat Tyler Schonfeld 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, Travis Jones downed Grant Kessler 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles and Austin Brockman topped Austin Gabbard 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles for the Lancers (2-2, 1-1).

Edinburgh’s Ian Buchanan and Milas Burkman fell to Bryce Bryant and Rylan Janes 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles. The Lancers had to forfeit at No. 2 doubles.

Jets fall to Raiders

VERSAILLES — Hauser won the third set, but South Ripley recovered in the fourth to finish off a 25-23, 25-10, 17-25, 25-21 victory.

Aniston Bostic pounded eight kills and four blocks, and Andie Clark had 23 digs and three aces to lead the Jets (4-2). Adrianna Musillami recorded 29 assists.

Also for Hauser, Kenzie Bostic, Charlie Clark and Stephanie Meek all notched six kills, and Kenze Bostic had three blocks. Musillami tallied nine digs and two aces, Andie Clark had three assists and Mattie Foster added two assists and nine digs.
