Columbus police officers arrested a local man Wednesday night on drug and weapon charges after a dispute over a vehicle.
At approximately 10:50 p.m., CPD officers responded to the 3300 block of Fall Valley Drive in regards to a disturbance, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman. A short time later, the officers located one of the persons involved, Brian A. Jones Jr. 27, of 1330 Jonesville Road, who was taken into custody after officers determined he was in possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers also located two handguns and narcotics inside the vehicle Jones was driving.
Jones was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of:
Possession of a handgun without a license
Possession of methamphetamine
Possession of marijuana
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Jones was being held in the jail in lieu of $76,000 bond, jail officials said.
