COLUMBUS
Don A. Christenberry, 64 of Columbus died September 30, 2021 at Columbus Regional Hospital. He was born on January 4, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois to Chester Leroy Christenberry and Marbelle (Chambers) Christenberry.
He attended college and worked in maintenance most of his life. He was a skilled handyman, often taking on improvement projects around the house. He never seemed to run out of projects, but he sometimes took time to enjoy hobbies, tinker with clocks and spend time in his man cave. He would always say “What happens in the garage, stays in the garage.”
He met his loving wife, Jennifer Staves while on vacation in Florida in April of 2000. They returned together to Columbus and married in October of that same year.
They have been inseparable ever since, working together for 10 years at a cleaning company. Don said he always enjoyed working, he was considered an excellent cook and gardener, with the motto: “I’ll plant it, you can it.”
Services for Mr. Christenberry will be 7 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2021 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Derek Carpenter officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. prior to the funeral.
