Richard Y. McGee, 86, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021 in Indianapolis.
Dick was born March 28, 1935 in Toledo. Ohio to parents Marion Y. and Catherine Bate McGee. He married Donnette Scott on June 14, 1958 and she survives.
Dick began his career working at Standard Oil, and then became a McDonald’s Franchise Owner. He owned several McDonald’s stores in Southern Indiana before retiring after 26 years. He loved his McDonald’s family and kept in touch with many of then even after retiring.
Dick enjoyed spending time with his family and especially loved time spent with his wife and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Donnette McGee; sons, Rick (Mindy), Tim (Lauren), and Chuck (Kari) McGee; daughters, DeeDee (Brian) Beckham, Cathy (Don) Hayati, Wendy Gonzalez, Sarah Woolwine, Lynn Lucas, and Carrie (Kevin) Leisure; his brother, Michael McGee; sister, Sarah Healy; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 27, 2021 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church with Father Chris Wadelton officiating. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until the time of mass Saturday. Friends are also invited to join the family following the Funeral Mass. Details will be made available on the day of services.
In lieu of flowers, Dick wished for any gifts made in his memory be given to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
