COLUMBUS, Ind. — A Louisville man was arrested on suspicion of operating a vehicle while intoxicated after he was accused of crashing his vehicle on Interstate 65 Thursday night.

At approximately 10:45 p.m., CPD officers responded to the northbound lanes
of Interstate 65 at the 64.5 mile marker in regards to the single-vehicle crash, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash, Christopher M. Gordon, 33, of Louisville was treated by paramedics for a laceration to his head. Officers noted that Gordon had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and observed several open alcohol containers in
his vehicle, Harris said.

Gordon was later transported to the Columbus Police Department where he provided a breath sample of .236% (over three times the legal limit), Harris said. Gordon was placed under arrest and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where he was remanded to their custody of a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
