Crusaders notch first win

ANDERSON — Columbus Christian jumped out to a 39-16 halftime lead Saturday and went on to post its first win of the season, a 59-38 triumph against Community Christian from Connersville in the Indiana Christian Academy Whirlwind Invitational.

Cam Pritchard led the Crusaders (1-1) with 11 points. Payton Rehlander, Gabe Ridder and Noah Edwards all scored 10, and Cody Kiefer added nine.

Columbus Christian wins

ANDERSON — Sarah Lorimor poured in 29 points to lead Columbus Christian to a 37-18 win at Indiana Christian Academy.

Lorimor scored all 10 of the first quarter points for the Crusaders (2-0), who led only 10-8 after one. Columbus Christian then allowed only 10 points over the final three periods.

Chargers top Cougars

GREENSBURG — South Decatur led 17-12 after one quarter, but North Decatur rallied for a 63-48 Mid-Hoosier Conference win.

Loryn Pate led the Cougars (1-6, 0-2) with 13 points. Kylie Best and Brayley Sundal each added eight.

Panthers stay perfect

GREENSBURG — Jennings County remained unbeaten with a 56-35 win at Greensburg.

The Panthers (5-0) jumped out to a 15-2 lead after one quarter and never looked back. Alivia Elmore led Jennings with 24 points, while Kali Thompson and Megan Vogel each added nine.

Eagles open with split

SCOTTSBURG — Brown County had only five wrestlers for its season-opening dual meets, but bounced back from a 51-13 loss to host Scottsburg with a 24-12 victory against Southwestern (Hanover).

Chris Luckey (152 pounds), Clayton Fouts (170) and Jesse Fouts (182) all went 2-0 for the Eagles. Brandon Phelps (160) went 1-1.
