COLUMBUS
Anita L. Hacker, 66, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday December 7, 2021 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. She was born in Columbus on November 22, 1955.
Anita was a member and pastor’s wife of the 6th Street General Baptist Church and was a volunteer for Our Hospice of South Central Indiana for many years. She was a talented singer and artist who never met a stranger. She loved all animals including her cats Sassy and Pete and a pet alligator she had in the past.
She married her husband of 38 years, the Rev. Don Hacker on August 9, 1983 and he survives. She is also survived by her mother, Norma Fay Keller; a son, David Sheren; step sons, Donnie and Kenny Hacker; step daughters, Melissa and Jennifer Hacker; sisters, Rita Crubaugh and Nila (Dennis) Perry and several grandchildren. Anita was preceded in death by her father, James Noble Crubaugh
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday December 11, 2021 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with her husband Rev. Don Hacker officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The funeral service will be streamed on the funeral home website starting at 3:00 p.m. Saturday for those unable to attend. Memorial contributions may be made to the Anita Hacker Memorial Fund/Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home to help with final expenses.
