Letter: Love Where You Live, help community thrive

From: Katie Glick

I love where I live. I’ve always embraced the various places I’ve lived over the years. However, after pausing for a few moments during the hustle and bustle of life recently, I realized I’ve really come to love where I live.

I’m blessed to live in the rural part of the county on our family farm which is my solitude — my roots. I don’t live far from a town with all the amenities along with more culture and arts than most cities and towns across our state. I can drive an hour or so to a few major cities with activities, attractions and airports to travel around the world — my wings.

Where I live, where you live, has a number of community organizations to support and engage with in order to support our fellow citizens and help our community thrive. The Heritage Fund of Bartholomew County is an organization I’m passionate about for their mission to be responsible stewards of philanthropic contributions, promote leadership, promote positive change and philanthropy through partnerships in our community.

The organization’s yearly “Love Where You Live” campaign supports our community fund and gives back to projects, programs and organizations that make our community unique. It’s a way to celebrate where we live and support what makes it so special. If you “love where you live”, I would encourage you to contribute to the campaign and be a part of the philanthropic community. Any dollar amount is appreciated and impactful for our community now and in the future!
