Bartholomew County lawmakers seek survey participants

Local House Republican lawmakers invite constituents to complete the 2022 issue survey to provide feedback ahead of the legislative session starting Jan. 4.

While Bartholomew County residents will receive information about the survey in the mail, they can get started today by visiting their member’s website and then clicking on the red “Take My Survey” button at one of the following links:

State Rep. Sean Eberhart (R-Shelbyville) at in.gov/h57;

State Rep. Ryan Lauer (R-Columbus) at in.gov/h59; or

State Rep. Jim Lucas (R-Seymour) at in.gov/h69.

“Feedback is important as we consider key issues related to education, taxes and individual liberties,” Lauer said. “I’m looking forward to hearing from constituents and learning more about their opinions before the start of the legislative session.”

“Input from our community is valuable, and I always appreciate hearing from those I represent,” Eberhart said. “Completing this survey is an easy way for us to stay connected, and I hope everyone can take some time and fill it out.”

To complete a member’s survey, constituents must be a resident of the district and submit it by Dec. 31. The survey questions are intended to reflect issues that may come before the Legislature and should not be interpreted as a reflection of their legislator’s views.

“These surveys are a great opportunity for me to learn more about what matters most to you and your family,” Lucas said. “I encourage Hoosiers throughout Bartholomew County to share their ideas before the Dec. 31 deadline.”

Constituents can determine and confirm who their state representative is online by visiting the Indiana General Assembly’s website at iga.in.gov, clicking on the “Find Your Legislator” tab and entering their home address.

The public can also participate in the legislative process by completing the survey, testifying in committee and staying connected with their state legislator. Constituents can visit iga.in.gov to watch livestreams of session and committee meetings, view archived meetings, and access meeting calendars and meeting agendas.

Constituents can contact Eberhart at [email protected], Lauer at [email protected] and Lucas at [email protected] with questions and comments, or by calling 1-800-382-9841.

The 2022 legislative session begins in January and must conclude by mid-March.
