North boys victorious

BLOOMINGTON — Columbus North’s boys pulled out a 98-85 win at Bloomington South on Tuesday, while the Bull Frog girls fell to the Panthers 128-58.

Daniel Utterback led the North boys with wins in the 200-yard freestyle (1 minute, 56.36 seconds) and 100 freestyle (48.63). David Fry took the 50 freestyle (22.67), Matthew Goble captured the 500 freestyle (5:20.05) and the Bull Frogs won the 200 freestyle relay (1:34.90).

Paige Maddox was the lone event winner for the North girls, taking the 500 freestyle in 5:52.04.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Pirates top Olympians

GREENSBURG — Columbus East led 9-7 after one quarter, but Greensburg rallied for a 56-40 victory.

Will Rieckers led the Olympians (1-7) with 19 points. Zane Moravec added eight.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Jets fall to Braves

BROWNSTOWN — Hauser outscored Brownstown Central over the final three quarters, but couldn’t catch up after falling behind 19-6 after one in a 55-47 defeat.

Kyliegh Parrott led the Jets (7-5) with 16 points. Madelyn Poe added 15.

Lancers move into final

EDINBURGH — Edinburgh moved into the championship game of its own tournament with a 52-38 win against Indianapolis Lutheran.

Callie Hancock led the Lancers (8-4) with 19 points. Cloee Britton scored 10, Alyssa Funkhouser had nine and Kyah Streeval added eight.

Edinburgh will play Southwestern (Shelby) at 4 p.m. today for the title.

Meanwhile, Columbus Christian, a last-minute fill in for a team that dropped out, fell to Knightstown 37-15. Sarah Lorimor scored all 15 points for the Crusaders (6-4).

Columbus Christian will play Hagerstown in the seventh-place game at 10 a.m.
