COLUMBUS
Brenda D. Ballard Villa, 68, of Columbus, passed from this life at 1:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Kindred Hospital North in Indianapolis.
Mrs. Villa was born May 23, 1953, in Columbus, the daughter of William M. and Lillian F. Byrd Ballard.
She married Jacinto “John” Villa Jr. August 14, 1993; he preceded her death October 10, 2009.
Brenda was a homemaker, a member of the Red Hat Society and was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include her children Frances (Rodney) Neal of Cave City, KY and Kelly Barton of Columbus; grandchildren, Jordan (Haley) Neal, Mayci Neal and Lillian Neal; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Gary (Debbie) Ballard of Hope and her dog, Bella.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Charlie and Clifton Ballard; sister, Betty Ison and a brother-in-law, Donald Ison.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Robert E. Lay officiating.
Family and friends may call from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday and 10:00 a.m. to time of service Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
