I-65 northbound lanes in Johnson County now open

FRANKLIN — Northbound lanes of I-65 have reopened, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation.

FRANKLIN — I-65 northbound lanes in Johnson County near mile marker 87 continue to be closed due to an accident, Indiana State Police said.

The crash is near the 87 mile marker, but first responders have shut down the northbound lanes near the 80 mile marker to allow emergency vehicles to get to the scene. The accident scene is a few miles south of the Franklin exit, state police said.

The 80 mile marker is near the Bartholomew/Johnson County line.

Crash reconstructionists have been called. Indiana State Police are advising motorists to use U.S. 31 as an alternative to avoid the area.
