BOYS BASETBALL

North rallies for win

MOORESVILLE — Columbus North trailed 31-22 at halftime before outscoring Mooresville 46-24 in the second half to claim a 68-55 road victory.

The Bull Dogs (9-5) led 15-10 after one quarter, but the Pioneers outscored them 21-7 in the second period. North used a 16-3 run to open the third quarter to take the lead for good.

Sam King scored 23 points, and Cooper Horn had 20 to lead the Bull Dogs. Ty Ferguson added 11.

East falls to Panthers

Columbus East was within 26-22 early in the third quarter, but Bloomington South used a 15-0 run to pull away for a 56-39 victory.

Ben Sylva led the Olympians (1-9) with 13 points. Will Rieckers added 10.

Crusaders advance

Columbus Christian opened Southern Roads Conference Tournament play with a 58-40 win against Cannelton.

Gabe Ridder led the Crusaders (11-7) with 15 points. Noah Edwards scored 13, Peyton Rehlander had 11 and Cam Pritchard added nine.

Columbus Christian will host Christian Academy of Madison in the semifinals at noon today. The third-place game is at 6 p.m., followed by the championship at 7:30 p.m.

Chargers clip Cougars

GREENSBURG — South Decatur led 26-25 at halftime, but North Decatur rallied for a 72-58 Mid-Hoosier Conference win.

Spartans stop Eagles

NASHVILLE — Southwestern (Shelby) jumped out to a 31-15 halftime lead and went on to hand Brown County a 60-49 defeat.

Carter Kelly led the Eagles (2-8) with 29 points.

Jets rout Tigers

CROTHERSVILLE — Hauser erupted to a 47-8 halftime lead and cruised from there to a 71-17 win at Crothersville.

Gabby Johns led the Jets (9-9) with 17 points. Norah Berkenstock scored 14, Kenze Bostic had 10 and Adrianna Musillami and Madelyn Poe each added eight.

Cougars top Eagles

SEYMOUR — Class A No. 8 Trinity Lutheran jumped out to an 18-10 lead after one quarter and went on to defeat Brown County 71-58.

Bailey Tabeling led the Cougars (12-6) with 23 points. Madison Keith scored 16, Liza Froedge and Kailene Cockerham each had 12 and Emma Schepman added eight.

Lexie Austin led the Eagles (3-16) with 15 points. Abigail Watson and Maddie Huff each added 11.
