Area crime reports INSIDE 2A
COLUMBUS, Ind. — Two local men were arrested Monday night after CPD officers responded to report of a disturbance involving a man with a firearm. At approximately 10:15 p.m., CPD officers were dispatched to the disturbance near Ninth and Chestnut streets.
A short time later, the officers observed Barry S. Lamborn, 64, of Columbus, who
matched the description of one of the men previously involved in the disturbance, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman. Lamborn was detained
after the officers located a handgun in his coat pocket. The officers later determined that Lamborn was a convicted violent felon after running a criminal history check, Harris said.
Lamborn advised officers that he was threatened with a knife by Darvoniae K. Walker, 28, of Columbus, just prior to the officers arrival, Harris said. Lamborn stated that during the altercation, Walker repeatedly threatened him and stabbed his bicycle tires with a knife, Harris said. The officers spoke with Walker and recovered a knife and drug
paraphernalia, Harris said. Walker was also placed under arrest. Both men were transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on the following preliminary charges:
–Barry S. Lamborn: Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon, Carrying a Firearm Without a Valid License by a Serious Violent Felon
Darvoniae K. Walker: Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
