Schools

• Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. will be closed Friday and will be doing eLearning.
• Flat Rock-Hawcreek School Corp. is closed Friday.
• St. Peter’s Lutheran School will be closed Friday, eLearning day for students.
• ABC Stewart Montessori School is closed Friday.
• Brown County schools are closed Friday.
• Jennings County schools are closed Friday, eLearning.
• Ivy Tech Columbus/Franklin/Shelby are closed and operating virtually Friday. Students should check Ivy Learn for information regarding instruction delivery and class details. As the campus buildings are closed, employees should follow supervisor directives for any on campus reporting requirements. Otherwise, employees should adjust to alternate work location. This closing includes campuses in Columbus, Franklin, and Shelbyville; sites in Greensburg, North Vernon, and Seymour; and the Cyber Academy at Muscatatuck Urban Training Center.
• Edinburgh School Corp. closed Friday, eLearning.
• White Creek Lutheran School closed Friday.
• The Indiana State School Music Association has rescheduled ALL ISSMA District Solo & Ensemble Festivals originally scheduled for Saturday, February 5th to the predetermined weather date of Saturday, February 12th.

Government

• Columbus city offices and Columbus City Hall are closed Friday.  Essential services will continue (police, fire, Public Works, etc.). ColumBus is planning to be in service from 8 a.m.  to 5 p.m. (hours may be adjusted depending on road conditions).
• Bartholomew County Courthouse and county offices are closed Friday.

Businesses

• Due to the snow and ice storm, The Republic is notifying subscribers that delivery of newspapers may be delayed. Thursday’s papers may be delivered with the Friday edition if carriers are unable to deliver newspapers due to weather conditions. In some instances, delivery of Thursday and Friday papers may be completed on Saturday as carriers wait for roads to be cleared.Newspapers will be printed and published each day and will be delivered as soon as possible when road conditions are safe for carriers. • Southern Indiana OBGYN will be closed Friday.
• Columbus Pediatrics will be closed Friday.
• Southern Indiana Heart & Vascular – Columbus, Seymour and Greensburg offices will be closed on Friday.
• Neurology and Sleep Sciences will be closed on Friday.
• Columbus Internal Medicine Associates is closed on Friday.
• Columbus Regional Health Urology, Columbus Regional Health Gastroenterology, Columbus Regional Health Breast Surgery are closed on Friday.
• Doctors Park Family Medicine, Rau Family Medicine, Sandcrest Family Medicine are closed Friday.
• OB/GYN Associates of Columbus will be closed on Friday.
• The CRH Sandcrest Outpatient Lab will be closed Friday.
• Columbus Regional Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine will be closed Friday.
• CRH Occupational Health Clinic and CRH BCSC Health Clinic will be closed Friday.

Public agencies

• The Bartholomew County Library is closed on Friday.
• Mill Race Center is closed Friday.
• The Indiana Department of Health has announced that all state-run COVID-19 testing and vaccination clinics will be closed Friday due to a winter storm that is impacting Indiana. Additional updates to state-operated sites will be posted at www.coronavirus.in.gov and www.ourshot.in.gov as needed.
• Treatment and Support Center (TASC) is closed Friday.
• All Human Services offices are closed Friday.

Sports

• Hauser’s first-round girls basketball sectional game against Jac-Cen-Del at Waldron that was scheduled for Wednesday was been moved to 6 p.m. Thursday because of the expected winter storm. If that game and the other remaining first-round game cannot be played Thursday, it would be pushed back to Friday, and if unable to play on Friday, it would be moved to Saturday, with the Hauser vs. Jac-Cen-Del game starting at 6 p.m.
• Brown County’s first-round girls basketball sectional game against Northview at Northview that was scheduled for Wednesday has been moved to 6 p.m. Friday. The semifinals now will be on Saturday, and the sectional final will be Tuesday.
• Also, at the Floyd Central Sectional, where the Jennings County girls swimmers are competing, the preliminaries have been moved from today to Friday. The finals still are scheduled for Saturday.
• Hauser’s boys basketball game scheduled for Thursday at Southwestern (Shelby) has been moved to Saturday with a noon JV start, followed by the varsity. The Jets game at South Dearborn scheduled for Saturday has been moved to Feb. 12, with a 1 p.m. JV start, followed by the varsity game.
