Columbus firefighters sent to sign fire at CVS on the west side

Columbus firefighters said a fire in the “S” of the “CVS” sign on Columbus’ west side caused some damage to the building Wednesday afternoon.

The fire started at about 3:20 p.m. in the portion of the sign and burned some of the facade below the letter.

Columbus police shut down Westwood Drive south of State Road 46 West as firefighters worked at the scene.

No injuries were reported.

ORIGINAL STORY

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus firefighters have been dispatched to a working fire at the CVS on Columbus’ west side off Jonathan Moore Pike reported at about 3:20 p.m.

It is being described as a fire in the roof area.

Columbus police are also responding to the scene and ambulances have also been dispatched.
