Twin Cities Raceway Park names 2021 champions

Twin Cities Raceway Park in Vernon has named its point champions for the 2021 racing season. The awards banquet for last season competitors is slated for March 5 at the Pines Evergreen Room in Seymour. The deadline to purchase tickets is today. To order tickets, call (812) 569-1982.

Track champions for each division in 2021 were Tyler Cain of Seymour (crate late models), Josh Turner of Edinburgh (super stocks), Mark Hines of North Vernon (pure stocks), Hunter Perry of Columbus (hornets), Mike Douglas of Madison (modifieds), and Steve Day of Sellersburg (crown vics).

Twin Cities Raceway Park will have a new name and ownership for the 2022 racing season. The track will now be known as Rock Crest Raceway. The track will be managed by Robbie Wilson of North Vernon.

Indiana Pro Late Models set schedule

Indiana Pro Late Model Series officials recently announced its 2022 lineup of events which will showcase 26 nights of racing action at five different tracks in Indiana.

The series kicks off its 2022 campaign at its home base of Brownstown Speedway on April 2. After six weekends at home, the series then travels to Bloomington Speedway on May 20 and then revisits Brownstown on May 21 for a two-day race weekend.

Rock Crest Raceway in North Vernon hosts the series for the first time on May 29 followed by another travel date to Lincoln Park Speedway on June 4. The Scott County Fair will host the series

on July 3. Circle City Raceway is back on the schedule for July 17. Rock Crest Raceway and Brownstown Speedway will fill the remaining schedule for the series.

All Indiana Pro Late Model Series events are set to pay $1,000 to-win and will once again feature a points fund for the drivers. Tyler Neal was the 2021 series champion, finishing the season with nine feature wins and 20 top-five finishes. Austin Burton was the Rookie of the Year.
