A student from Columbus East High School served as a Senate page recently at the Statehouse in Indianapolis.
Jackson Warren was welcomed at the Capitol by Sen. Eric Koch, R-Bedford. Pages — students in grades 6-12 — spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator.
“There’s no better time to see state government in action than during the legislative session, and I’m glad Jackson got to have this experience,” Koch said. “The page program is a great, interactive opportunity for students to broaden their horizon and encourages civic engagement.”
