David Lawrence Haag

GRAHAM, Ala.

David Lawrence Haag, 77, of Graham, Alabama, passed away at 7:22 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at the Tanner Medical Center in Carrolton, Georgia.

He was born on August 9, 1944, in North Carolina and was the son of Chester Haag and Opal (Ray) Miller. He married Linda (Simpson) Haag in December of 1986; she survives.

David was a 1962 graduate of North Vernon High School and a graduate of Technical School. He worked for Arvin’s in Columbus, Regal Insulation in Crothersville, and Franklin Aluminum in Franklin, Alabama. David was a retired pastor of Whitesburg Baptist Church in Georgia and served as a missionary in Ukraine for several years. David was a member of Full Gospel Businessmen’s Association. His enjoyments included fishing, Bible Study, spending time with his family, and woodworking including making clocks, porch swings, birdhouses, furniture and windchimes.

Surviving with his wife, Linda; is a son, Bryan (Laurie) Haag of Sellersburg; his daughter, Kelly (Pete) Frank of Marion; his stepdaughter, Jennifer (Bill) Phillips-Lewis of Graham, Alabama; brother, Michael Haag of Stockton, California; sister Patty (Steve) Shuler of Columbus; twelve grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; niece, Katy Lucas of Columbus; and nephew, Stephen (Danielle) Lucas of Bloomington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Eddie Miller; and brother, Danny Haag.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in North Vernon.
