Rosemary Harris

HOPE

Rosemary Harris, 97, of Hope passed away Saturday March 5, 2022 at Silver Oaks Health Campus.

Born August 21, 1924 in Clifford she was the daughter of Hallard and Alice Sullivan Hendrickson. She married William Harris November 20, 1942 and he preceded her in death March 4, 2005.

Before retirement Rosemary had been employed as a secretary in the medical field. In her earlier employment she worked at Rovier Shirt Factory in Columbus.

Rosemary was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women’s Group.

She is survived by daughters, Barbara Walters of Hope and Jeannie (Don) Burton of Hope; grandchildren, Lynda Ziegler of Hope, Bruce Burton of Hope, Pat (Brandy) Walters of Hope, Staci Harris and Brent Harris, both of Freetown; step grandchildren, Selena (Steve) Dollarhide of North Vernon and John (Teresa) Walters of O’Hara, OK; great grandchildren, Tyocia Ziegler of Norristown, Will Walters and Jamie Walters, both of Hope; 4 step great grandchildren; 2 step great-great grandchildren; sister, Shirley Mitchell of Columbus; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Harris of Freetown and several nieces and nephews.

Rosemary’s funeral will be Friday March 11 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hope United Methodist Church with Pastor Ed Cottrell officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Burial will follow at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery west of Clifford.

Rosemary will be remembered for the love she gave to her family, friends and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time reading, completing word search puzzles, sewing and hand stitching crafts. Rosemary loved to cook and during the spring and summer she enjoyed her garden and canning.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, John Harris; brother, Kenny Hendrickson; sister-in-law, Alberta Hendrickson; brother-in-law, Bill Mitchell; step grandson, Asa Walters and a niece, Janice Nay.
