Jaggers to replace closed Lincoln Square

Mike Wolanin | The Republic Demolition of the closed Lincoln Square Restaurant is underway on Columbus’ west side to make way for a new Jaggers restaurant and drive-thru.

A closed westside restaurant is being demolished to make way for a new, fast-casual venue that could open in late summer.

The former Lincoln Square Pancake House on Columbus’ west side, off of Jonathan Moore Pike, is being torn down to make way for a Jaggers.

Demolition began this week, and construction is expected to begin next week, said Brandon Goldberg, associate development manager with GreenbergFarrow.

GreenbergFarrow, which describes itself as a “fully integrated architecture, engineering, planning, landscape architecture and development services firm,” is designing the local Jaggers development.

Goldberg said he expects the restaurant to be up and running late this summer.

Columbus officials approved zoning variances for the development in late December. According to its variance application, the restaurant expects to have 12 employees per shift and 58 seats for customers (including 38 inside and 20 outside). The planning department’s staff report described the proposed project as a fast-casual restaurant with a drive-thru.

The Jaggers franchise is owned by Texas Roadhouse LLC and offers burgers, chicken tenders and sandwiches, among other things, according to the restaurant’s website. The site lists four Jagger locations in Louisville, Indianapolis, Noblesville and Greenwood. The restaurant’s hiring page also lists openings for positions in Columbus and Avon.

The local restaurant is to be located at 2315 Jonathan Moore Pike. The site was previously home to a Lincoln Square Pancake House opened by Nick and Maria Katris in November of 2011. According to the Lincoln Square website, the restaurant chain was founded by cousin George Katris.

The Columbus property also previously featured Riviera and Dimitris restaurants managed by Dimitris Adamopoulos.
