Evan Burton
The Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. has announced its replacement for retiring Northside Middle School Principal Amy Dixon.
The school board voted to appoint Assistant Principal Evan Burton to the role at a recent board meeting.
Burton said he will officially step into the position on July 1 and is “extremely excited.” He been working in education for about 15 years, including seven years as Northside’s assistant principal.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue building a culture for students to develop and staff to thrive in,” he told The Republic. “I’m appreciative of the confidence BCSC has in me to lead in our district. Northside is ‘my place’ and there’s nowhere else I’d rather get to work each day.”
He also took the time, during Monday’s board meeting, to thank Dixon for being an “absolutely exemplary mentor and friend.”
