Two people were arrested and a juvenile was taken into custody after CPD officers stopped a vehicle for a minor traffic violation early Thursday morning.

At approximately 12:50 a.m., CPD officers stopped a vehicle driven by Michael R. Jorgensen, 41, of Fountaintown, near Seventh Street and California Street, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

While speaking with officers, Jorgensen falsely identified himself, police said. The officers determined Jorgensen’s identity a short time later and confirmed two warrants for his arrest. While searching Jorgensen’s clothing, the officers reportedly located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, Harris said.

The officers also spoke with the front seat passenger in the vehicle who also falsely identified herself, police said. The officers later confirmed her identity as Shara M. Turnbloom, 30, of 602 E. Thompson St., Edinburgh and determined that she had a warrant for her arrest.

A juvenile who was reported as a runaway was also in the vehicle and was taken into custody.

Jorgensen and Turnbloom were transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where they were remanded on the following preliminary charges:

Jorgensen: Henry County warrant, Decatur County warrant, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a legend drug injection device, possession of drug paraphernalia and false informing, being held with no bond.

Turnbloom: Decatur County warrant, false informing, bond set at $3,500.
